Never the Same

Posted by Adtern

By: Trinita Hill, Copywriting Intern

Working at Intermark was a great experience. I learned so much about copywriting. It’s not an easy job, but I really like it.  I learned how to write headlines, taglines manifestos and scripts.  Doing the creative projects taught me how the campaign process works.  Joel (Senior Copywriter) and Lauren (Associate Creative Director) were very supportive throughout the internship. I also had a great Art Director, Elise, who I learned so much from.

Goodbyes Are Never Easy

Posted by Adtern

By: Justin Hild, Public Relations Intern

Encompassing this summer in a single post is not simply possible. I honestly do not know where to begin. Coming into this internship I felt inadequate, nervous and unprepared. I felt as though I couldn't meet the expectations that were required. I could not have been any more wrong.

Why Videos Should Be Placed on Every Home Page of a Website

Posted by Adtern

By: Lauren Runnels, Media Intern

Years ago, if someone said videos would be the leading way to produce content, everyone, including myself, would have laughed. As they say, out with the old and in with the new. In today’s world, it is almost vital to have video content on your website to stand out amongst others. Customers will be more engaged and more likely to remember your brand if videos are used to promote products or services, and here’s why:

Communicating in the Digital World

Posted by Adtern

By: Katherine Davis, Digital Account Service Intern

As a Digital Account Service intern, I have realistic expectations of what I should know and what I will learn. Anyone familiar with an account service role can tell you the important connection it forms between clients and the agency. I get that. I like communicating ideas. However, something I am unfamiliar with is translating. If “translator” is not a skill you expected to need in an account service position, well, join the club. At ALLOY, I have discovered that all communication is not created equal. Thankfully, after my first week on the job, I realized my department is not planning on leaving me in the dark.

A Week at Intermark

Posted by Adtern

By: Trinita Hill, Copywriting Intern

During my first week at Intermark, I learned so much and quickly transitioned from a college student to a working professional. My life back at the University of Alabama consisted of t-shirts and shorts, biking to class and a lot of coffee. So far, my life as an Intermark intern has been just a little different.

Four Commandments of Media Buying

Posted by Adtern

By: Peyton Chandler, Media Intern

This summer I was fortunate enough to intern with Intermark Group in the Media department. I knew a little bit about the advertising industry when I began. For example, I knew that it involved the creation, placement and budgeting of ads. Needless to say, I had much to learn, especially when it came to Media Buying. There’s much that takes place behind the scenes in a Media department. There’s also a good bit that takes place at the forefront of agency operations. Throughout my internship, I picked up a wealth of knowledge from my tasks and fellow members of the Media department. Here are my 4 most important takeaways—my “Four Commandments of Media Buying,” if you will.

Measuring Your Digital Return

Posted by Adtern

By: Heather Robinson, Digital Account Service Intern

Mobile and web-based applications are driving the future of new business initiatives. Investing in digital technology is vital in generating growth and engagement for your business. But, how can you calculate a Return on Investment (ROI) in the digital landscape? This is not a straight-forward equation that you can just plug in a few numbers and receive a telling data point. It is a living equation that requires descriptive objectives and definitive performance indicators, which will guide you to your digital ROI.

Posted by Adtern

By: Casey Whitmer, Public Relations Intern

Whether you’re pushing out a press release or updating a brand’s social page, visual storytelling is an effective way to grasp and retain the reader’s attention. People are constantly bombarded with excess amounts of text when on the web. Most peoples’ attention spans seem to be decreasing as they become more and more engulfed by digital content. That being said, piquing their attention and holding it is vital to getting your message across.
