This summer I was fortunate enough to intern with Intermark Group in the Media department. I knew a little bit about the advertising industry when I began. For example, I knew that it involved the creation, placement and budgeting of ads. Needless to say, I had much to learn, especially when it came to Media Buying. There’s much that takes place behind the scenes in a Media department. There’s also a good bit that takes place at the forefront of agency operations. There’s a Line at the Microwave

My summer here at Intermark Group has definitely been an interesting one. I drive one hour each way to be here bright and early at 8:30 in the morning. I spend about 15 minutes settling in, but then it’s time to get the day started. The interns usually meet to go over our to-do lists, then divide and conquer the tasks for the day.

Then, it’s lunch time. There’s always a line at the microwave.

The End of a TRIUMPHant Summer

We all started the summer hoping nobody would figure out that we had no idea what we were doing.

We arrived at Intermark on May 16th as six strangers hoping to meet a friendly face and not trip up the stairs. Thankfully, all six of us are exactly the same brand of slightly awkward. Little did I know it that morning, but these five people would become more than co-workers. They would become true friends. On orientation day, we received an overwhelming amount of papers and an equally large dose of encouragement from everyone we met. From day one, it was clear that we were truly welcomed to the Intermark family as real members of the team. Everyone wanted to see us succeed, and we all wanted to make them as excited about us as we were to just be in the building.
